Taken as a whole, "Die Architektur der Sepultras Region von Copán" should be of considerable value to veryone who has an interest in Maya society and Maya culture, as various aspects of Maya culture are made visible through the medium of architecture. In my own case, I have not yet had the opportunity to see the Sepultras complex in its excavated form (my last visit to Copán was in 1978), but feel that I actually know it pretty well, solely on the basis of Hohmann's comprehensive record. Hohmann's superb drawings and accompanying analyses set a high standard for architectural recording and interpretation which other investigators would do well to emulate.
